E. Frank Brewer, a pioneer in the custom fabrication industry, founded the The Brewer Company in 1947. Originally, Brewer began its operation as a custom tube fabricator constructing products such as truck and train seat frames and dinette sets. In the mid 1950's Brewer began to expand its tube fabrication business into products that were designed for the industrial market and in the 1950's introduced some of the first chrome stools made especially for the popular restaurant/diners of that time period. These stools were a trendy item during the decade and allowed Brewer to break into the seating manufacturing community with a quality highly demanded product.
Following the introduction of the chrome diner stools, Brewer decided to take its seating concept a step further and introduce its product into the healthcare market. In the 1960's Brewer released a comprehensive line of exam seating that was the beginning concept for the product lines today.
Brewer began to expand its product line through the years and invested in several acquisitions. In 1984, The Brewer Company entered the Dental Market by acquiring Del-Tube Corporation. Del-Tube's products, which included adjustable stools and patient exam and X-ray chairs, expanded and complemented Brewer's existing line. This important acquisition positioned Brewer to break into the dental market and develop a strong, respected presence in ergonomic design. With this acquisition, Brewer sold off several product lines and divisions to focus its sales primarily on the healthcare and dental markets and its' specialized contract manufacturer business.
At the end of 1999, Brewer purchased HealthCare Lighting, a lighting company that offers an extensive variety of procedure and exam lighting. This addition allowed Brewer to expand its' scope of products in order to present their customers with a comprehensive product package to fit all their purchasing needs
