ACCESSORIES
The MC-4A comes complete with an autoclaveable handpiece & cord, 5 electrodes (UF-F11, UF-L22, UF-L34, UF-L35 & UF-C51), ground plate, ground cord, and a operating and instructional manual. The MC-4A is foot switch operated. Custom length handpiece and ground cords are available.

Wave Forms
There are four wave forms used in most modern dental electrosurgery. The MC-4A provides the two most important wave forms, the CUT + COAG (full rectified, not filtered), and COAGULATION or COAG (partially rectified). These wave forms are delivered through a single output jack and are selected by the use of a toggle switch. Fulguration is available with an optional adaptor. Due to the "Spark-Free" technology, the "spark" modality (fulguration) is not incorporated into the same circuit as the Cut+Coag and Coag functions.
APPLICATIONS
The CUT+COAG wave form is the choice for most dental electrosurgical procedures. It provides excellent cutting and hemostasis. There is very slight tissue trauma but it is minimized with the "Spark-Free" technology and does not cause charing or affect healing.
The COAGULATE wave form is used primarily for hemostatis or controlled therapeutic tissue destruction.
SPECIFICATIONS
The power (intensity) of all both wave forms is controlled by the single variable control dial. This control is infinitely variable, permitting minute adjustments to obtain optimal power settings. The level of available power is important. It insures that there will be adequate power available for efficient performance in the event of a sharp decline in the supply voltage, and that there is always enough power to cut in tough, fibrotic tissue.

STERILITY
The handpieces and cord and the dispersive plate and cord on all MACAN units can be sterilized by autoclave, gas, or chemical methods. The handpieces of some competitive electrosurgical units can be sterilized only by gas, almost never found in dental offices.
DEPENDABILITY
All MACAN Electrosurgical units have printed circuits and solid state components where they are advantageous, and a proven vacuum tube power source. The printed circuits reduce heat generation and insure consistent performance and good production control. The vacuum tube generates more power than would be generated by a solid state replacement and has proven over the years to deliver much more dependable, long time, service free performance and greater economy for which MACAN units are known. The Macan MC-4A Unit is unconditionally guaranteed for five years from the date of purchase, (excluding handpiece, dispersive plate, cords and electrodes).
